The UCLG Culture Summit Sustainability Policy outlines the summit’s commitment to sustainability leadership throughout all of the operations and processes in the advancement of the event.
Native Events have taken key steps to apply circular economy principles to the UCLG Culture Summit. The circular economy is based on three core principles:
- Eliminate and prevent waste
- Keeping materials in use.
- Regenerate nature.
WASTE PREVENTION
Instead of purchasing new virgin materials for conference lanyards, pens and notebooks, Native Events worked with Dublin City Council to use surplus stock left over from a previous event.
We ask that conference delegates take only what they need, and return anything they do not use. We will ensure that materials are repurposed for use at future events.
KEEPING MATERIALS IN USE
Native Events’ upcycled furniture, planters and tables are made from salvaged wood, pallets and offcuts, extending the life cycle of the materials in use, and preventing them from going to waste disposal. The circular furniture set does not use any glue, and is instead bolted together making it modular and reusable in different ways.

BATTERY POWERED HOT-DESK
This highly functional battery is both portable and completely silent. This instagrid battery has been used for a diverse set of tasks across the film and event production industries, from projectors and lighting systems to camera cranes and PA setups. It provided 230VAC of power at a whopping 18000w peak with a total capacity of 2.1kWh, this is a highly versatile sustainable solution.

The UCLG Culture Summit branding and signage is made from ‘honeybomb’ cardboard instead of the plastic. Signage and branding is fully recyclable. Native Events will ensure that it is correctly disposed of.
We take a systems approach to smart power planning, giving us the in-depth understanding required to supply solar solutions to your event while maximising efficiency.
