Native Events is the driving force for sustainability in the creative and cultural sector in Ireland. The organisation works with an expanding cohort of partners and collaborators across three pillars – consultancy, advocacy and training in creative climate action; as a creative agency and sustainable events production house; and in the supply of infrastructure and equipment for more environmentally sustainable events and activations.

The Communications Lead is a vital role for 2025, assisting with key client engagements and outreach, as well as promoting Native Events’ own activities. The Communications Lead liaises with the core team and reports directly to the Directors.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Communications Lead to join our team on a short-term maternity cover contract, to August 2025. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing and implementing communication strategies, creating engaging content, and ensuring consistency in our brand voice across all channels.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Develop and Execute Social Media Campaigns:

  • Plan and implement creative social media campaigns aligned with company objectives.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on social media performance and engagement quarterly.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure brand consistency across all social media platforms.
  • Respond to comments and customer queries in a timely manner, fostering a positive community.
  • Explore and implement automation tools to efficiently manage social media engagement, to ensure effective online campaigns while still maintaining an organic and considered approach.

Newsletter Management:

  • Create and distribute regular newsletters featuring organic and relevant content that engages our audience.
  • Maintain and update the newsletter mailing list in compliance with GDPR regulations to ensure privacy and data security.
  • Analyse newsletter performance metrics and user engagement to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary enhancements.

Content Creation:

  • Create and edit compelling content for various channels, including social media, newsletters, press releases, etc.
  • Collaborate with key clients and with internal teams to ensure consistency in messaging and visual identity.

Media and Public Relations:

  • Manage media inquiries and cultivate strong relationships with industry journalists to enhance our media presence.
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of events to ensure seamless execution and effective promotion.
  • Tailor PR lists on a project-by-project basis to ensure targeted and effective communication efforts.
  • Attend Native Events and affiliated client or partner events to build and maintain a strong profile and strategic presence.

Administrative Support:

  • Develop and present quarterly reports that align social media performance, website analytics, and impact metrics to showcase Native Events’ outreach and engagement achievements.
  • Provide support for various communication-related tasks as assigned to ensure smooth operations and effective messaging.
  • Oversee and review content or communications produced and shared by other team members, including online via social media or email, as well as at in-person events, to maintain consistency and quality.

Strategy and Development

  • Content banking – archiving Native organic content for future marketing and communications use.
  • Creative Agency Approach – adopt a forward-thinking stance in communications, focusing on and responding to current needs and trends.

Website Management

  • While WordPress experience is not required, it is highly beneficial for managing Native Events’ websites.
  • Manage all existing and new website content, ensuring relevant information is added and updated as necessary.
  • Utilise a strong understanding of Google Analytics and website metrics programs to monitor and improve website performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field (preferred).
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in communications or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media management and content creation tools.
  • Video editing experience is a desirable asset but not essential.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and climate literacy is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced work environment.

TERMS:

  • This position is offered on a short-term contract basis, to cover maternity leave.
  • We envisage this being a full-time role, however we are flexible and open to 3 to 4 days per week for the right candidate, depending on experience.
  • The role is based primarily in the Native Events office in Segotia Rathmines, however remote working can also be facilitated with this position.
  • Office hours are 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
  • It should be understood that at times you will be expected to work such hours as are necessary for the workload and deadlines in question.
